The video aired on NBC’s “Today” show on Friday morning seems to show passengers discussing seat restraint issues on Thursday night. Then the vehicle began to climb the tower before anyone was seen falling off the vehicle.

John Stein, sales director of the Slingshot Group, who owns the ride, told The Associated Press Friday morning, “We are absolutely sad and overwhelmed by what happened, and our hearts are this young man. It’s aimed at the family. “

According to Stein, the freefall ride and its adjacent slingshot were closed indefinitely. His company operates two vehicles at Icon Park.

“We are working with all other investigations at this point to figure out what happened,” Stein said.

Stein said there were no previously reported issues with the freefall rides that opened during the vacation.
