A cooler, drier start for Mother’s Day weekend in southwestern Florida

Fort myers

Happy Friday! As the front passes slowly through southwestern Florida, showers can occur before the dry air mixes.

Dew points will eventually plummet this afternoon and evening, but will be even more pronounced by tomorrow.

And don’t forget that it’s not only dry air, but also colder air! This will lower the lows in the late 50’s and late 60’s to start the weekend.

The temperature rises on Saturday afternoons, but it’s still a pleasant afternoon before some showers return on Sunday.

Rain is not widespread, but heavy rains can occur once or twice in the afternoon. Bring an umbrella in preparation for a dinner plan with mom.

Next week, the trend of “potential sultry storms” will rebound, so enjoy this weekend if you can.
