A fire broke out in the lobby of the Whitney Museum of American Art in West Village

West Village, Manhattan (WABC)-FDNY hurriedly put out the fire in Whitney’s lobby Thursday night.

The crew arrived at the site of 99 Gunsbourg Street in West Village, outside the museum’s landmark building.

The fire remained small, but it took about 40 minutes to suppress the flame.

There was no one in the museum when the fire started.
