A man in Collier County was arrested for stealing hundreds of gallons of fuel from a farm.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Ramon Aranda confessed to lawmakers that he had stolen fuel on Sunday and returned on Tuesday to get more fuel.
The theft occurred at Oilwell Road.
On Sunday, farm employees discovered that the company lock was at one of the property’s gates and another strange lock was there.
The employee decided to leave the weird lock on to see if anyone would come back. They also installed a trail camera that warns if someone is at the gate.
The suspect returned and the camera warned them. The property manager called the sheriff’s office.
Aranda faces the crime of subsidy theft and illegal transportation of fuel, both in felony and trespassing.
