Wesley Chapel — Alan and Jamie Beer celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in August of this year.

“He was great. He did everything for us. He was my rock. My best friend. My soulmate,” said his wife Jamie.

The Wesley Chapel couple experienced another highlight of volunteering together at the Super Bowl. But a few days later, Alain became infected with COVID.

He was hospitalized and had a tough day of nine days. Beer, the three fathers, seemed to have recovered and was ready to go home.

However, his wife states that a weakened immune system led to abdominal bleeding, and Alain, only 53 years old, died on February 23.

“The overflow of love is astounding. And it really makes us feel good. I don’t think it’s easy for him to go away. But I know we have a lot of support. It was really good just for me, “Jamie said.

Much of the support comes from the Wiregrass Ranch High School community, where Beer was a JV football coach.

“I didn’t want him to be my coach. I didn’t want people to be like” daddy’s ball “whether I played or not. But I don’t regret it at all. I had the best time with him as a coach. He made everything better, “said his son Abram.

The Wiregrass Ranch was so significant to Alain that his family wants his legacy to live there.

They started the Alan Beer Memorial Fund, which benefits football programs. Its first mission is to get a new sound system at the stadium.

“It’s hard to replace a gentleman like him with the passion, comfort and desire he had. Not just for his own family, but for everyone he touched. He’s a lot. I touched my life. “

Alain’s family will miss him. His players will do so too. But they can all go back to this area and remember the impact he had on many people.
