Tropical Storm Bullet is expected to intensify as it moves westward across the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Brett formed over the open Atlantic on Monday evening.

At 5:00 am it was located 1130 miles east of the southern Windward Islands.

Brett is traveling west at 17 mph.

Wind speeds will be close to 40 miles per hour, and gusts will also be strong.

The system is Tropical Storm No. 3 and has been upgraded to a Tropical Storm by the National Hurricane Center.

Although no monitors or alerts are currently in effect, officials in the Lesser Antilles, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico should monitor the progress of this system.

Bullet is expected to intensify and is expected to become a hurricane by midweek.

Estimated minimum core pressure is 1008mb.

Brett is the second tropical storm of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The first named storm, Arlene, was a star system that briefly existed in the Gulf of Mexico.

There is high uncertainty about the long-term exact trajectory of this system, but bullets are not expected to affect northeastern Florida and southeastern Georgia.

The second target area, Invest 93L, was developed in the open eastern Atlantic waters.

A tropical storm is possible later this week.

The hurricane season ends on November 30th.
