A violent collision involving two tractor trailers closed the lanes of Newark’s I-78.

Newark, NJ (WABC)-A violent clash involving two tractor trailers closed the highway lanes of the New Jersey highway on Saturday morning.

It happened around 6:30 am on I-78 in Newark near Exit 57.

Heavy flames and thick black smoke were seen from the wreckage, with one of the trailers remaining above the median.

The firefighters managed to extinguish those flames.

No information about the injury has been released.

It’s also unclear what led to the crash.

More details will be announced as they become available.
