A year later, the murdered mother of three families still waiting for justice

Clay County, Florida – Liza Dukes, her boyfriend and his father were all shot at Keystone Heights’ home in December 2019. Her boyfriend was the only survivor.

More than a year later, Dukes’ sister Kerry Lewis told News4Jax that the family trip to find justice was frustrating. This week, the family celebrated another Dukes birthday without her.

“We definitely want to celebrate her life at every opportunity we can,” Lewis said.

The Duke would have been 31 years old on Thursday.

“It’s difficult to adapt to life without her, to adapt to her children, and what role our family must play in their lives,” Lewis said. ..

The family feels like they are in the same place as they were a year ago. Due to COVID-19, the court date has been postponed. And none of the three dead mothers have been convicted.

“I’m ready to finish this, so I can sadly move on,” Lewis said.
