An annual Thanksgiving breakfast returns to New York to honor the fallen hero’s family

Midtown Manhattan-A heartwarming tradition is back in Thanksgiving to the families of first responders who died on duty.

First Responder Children’s Foundation held its annual Thanksgiving Parade Breakfast at Bryant Park Grill.

Last year, the event was canceled due to a pandemic.

A family of fallen police officers and firefighters ate together before sitting in the front row of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“We still care and how meaningful they are to all of us, especially as the fire and police departments are taking care of men’s and women’s families and children, at great cost. It’s great to be here to show that, “NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said.

The first breakfast was held in November 2001 and helped comfort families who lost their loved ones in the 9/11 attack.
