Madrid – Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have decided to drop out of the Super League on Wednesday.
The move took place the day after six Premier League clubs gave up the controversial exit competition, and only the other four clubs may still be involved.
Atletico said the decision was made after the board met Wednesday.
The Spanish club said, “We have decided to formally inform the Super League and other founding clubs of the decision not to officially participate in the project.”
“Innovation and inclusion have been part of our DNA since our inception,” said Inter, who is committed to providing fans with the best football experience.
“Our commitment with all stakeholders to improve the football industry will never change,” said the Italian club.
Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona have also joined the Super League with Italian clubs AC Milan and Juventus.
