Brandon Bernard was executed despite last-minute efforts to save his life

Brandon Bernard was executed by the federal government at the Federal Correction Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, Thursday night, according to CNN.

Bernard, one of five convicted of killing young ministers Stacy and Todd Bagley in Texas in 1999, was sentenced to death for nearly 70 years for a crime committed at the age of 18. He was the youngest person in the United States. He was 40 years old.

There have been multiple efforts to commute his execution. His story caught the attention of Kim Kardashian, who was actively trying to save his life until the last moment.

Bernard was declared dead at 9:27 pm Bernard said he was waiting for a chance to apologize to Bagleys’ family and his own family for the pain he caused.

“I’m sorry … I wish I could get it all back, but I can’t,” Bernard told Bagleys’ family in the last three minutes. “That’s the only word that gives a complete picture of how I feel now and how I felt that day.”

Bagleys thanked Donald Trump for executing the execution in a statement. This was the ninth execution under the Trump administration after the federal execution was suspended for 17 years.

Bernard’s life-saving debate at a 2000 hearing proved that he was not in the leadership position of the relevant gang and that he was not a full-fledged gang member. It included the fact that the official withheld.

According to Owens, five of the juries who ruled would not have agreed to sentence Bernard to death if he knew the private information.

Kim Kardashian also said he was a model prisoner and used his story to outreach.

She shared this message following Bernard’s words of execution:
