Bronx Fire: 84-year-old Man Dead, Riverdale Apartment Fire Injured Two

Riverdale, Bronx (WABC)-A fire broke out in an apartment in the Riverdale section of the Bronx on Wednesday morning, killing a man.

The 84-year-old victim was trapped in an apartment on the second floor of Arlington Avenue after a fire broke out at around 2:10 am.

The building manager went floor by floor, knocked on the door, and excited the inhabitants.

An 84-year-old victim identified as Juan Melendez was sentenced to death on the scene.

The other two were treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
