Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal collision along a dark road involving a 49-year-old Rockledge man in Osceola County and a bicycle.

The Rockledge man who was driving the 2021 Ford F-250 pickup truck was not injured, but a 56-year-old Kissimmee cyclist who was not wearing a helmet was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:32 am on Tuesday in the eastbound lane of Nova Road, west of Gator Branch Road in St. Cloud. The road was temporarily closed as investigators surveyed the crash site.

The Troopers said the Ford was heading east on Nova Road, west of the Gator Branch Road.

A Rockledge truck driver told police officers that he could not see the cyclists in the darkened roads and that the bicycles had no lights.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said the right front of the truck struck a bicycle.

Investigation is in progress.
