Bruce wins the Golden Knights 3-1 and snaps seven skids

ST. Louis-Jordan Binnington made 45 saves to help St. Louis Bruce snap a seven-game skid that beat Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Vladimir Tara Senko, Samuel Blais and Jake Wolman scored and St. Louis finished 0-6-1. It also gave Bruce his first home victory since the extra time against San Jose on February 18.

The 45 saves were the best of the season for Binnington, surpassing the 42 saves in Bruce’s 5-4 extra time in Las Vegas on January 24th.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 32 saves, losing three consecutive starts.

Thalassenko scored the third goal of the season 48 seconds after the contest to give St. Louis an early lead.

Bryce scored his first goal at 7:21 when he scored his fourth goal of the season, 2-0, with a feed from David Peron over Fleury’s glove. Bryce has been a healthy scratch in the last three contests in St. Louis.

Wolman scored his first NHL goal to add insurance when he rebounded from Jordan Kyrou past Fleury and maintained regulation at 6:27 to 3-0.

Nico Alsroy ruined the bid for the ninth shutout when Binnington scored the second goal of the season at 4:16.

Battle night:

Kyle Clifford and Ryback Reeves dropped their gloves in the middle of the first period. It was Clifford’s fourth battle of the season leading the team.

Scratch:

Bruce defenseman Robert Bortuzzo was the first healthy scratch of the season, and forward Mike Hoffman was the second healthy scratch in five games.

Lineup Roulette:

Chandler Stephenson of the Golden Knights has returned to the lineup after missing the last three Vegas games due to an injury to his upper body. Defenseman Alec Martinez was a late scratcher and didn’t take the ice to warm up after scoring two goals on Monday night. Vegas played one skater, twelve forwards and five defenses in short dresses.
