Charles Adelson arrested for murder in connection with Dan Markel’s murder

Broward County, Florida (WTXL) — Charlie Adelson, a former brother-in-law of Dan Markel, a former law professor at Florida State University, was arrested Thursday in connection with Markel’s murder.

Adelson was arrested by the United States Marshals Service and booked in Broward County Jail for a single murder, a plot to attempt the murder, and a solicitation for the murder.

According to state prosecutor John Campbell, a grand jury charged him on Wednesday and he was detained without incident.

The state would like to commend the ongoing efforts of law enforcement since the murder of Dr. Dan Markel in 2014, the time committed by the grand jury who considered the case, and the new audio recordings of the restaurant. This recording contains a statement by Charles Adelson that is clearly audible for the first time.

Dr. Markel’s family, state law firms, and the law enforcement team behind this ongoing investigation will not rest until justice is brought to everyone involved in this horrific crime.
