Tallahassee, Florida (AP) — Republicans in Florida have succeeded in making it more difficult for voters to change the state constitution.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Friday to limit donations by groups promoting ballot initiatives.

The Political Commission for Constitutional Changes is limited to $ 3,000 in personal donations until the proposal is approved on ballot.

Republicans argue that new legislation is needed to prevent out-of-state interest from affecting the state constitution, and Democrats crush voters’ right to implement policies that Republicans refuse to consider. We call it a blatant attempt by the GOP to try.
