The first search began on Friday, two days after the boat capsized, after being rescued from the water by the Good Samaritan. According to the USCG Southeast, the man was found about 23 miles off the coast of Fort Pierce.
The Coast Guard responded by taking a Jamaican man to the hospital.
The man told the Coast Guard that he and six others were on a boat capsized on Wednesday. The boat departed from Bimini in the Bahamas.
According to the Coast Guard, the second search will include a “six-foot temporary vessel” that went missing off the coast of Key West. The ship left Havana, Cuba on Friday with 10 people.
A USCG spokesman told CNN that it was unclear why the ship went missing.
The Coast Guard has deployed search aircraft and multiple boats to search for survivors.
