Roommates, in the latest chapter of the ongoing story around Dave ChappelleThe award-winning comedian “The Closer” recently tackled the controversy head-on during a live performance. He was invited to speak with members of the LGBTQ + community and directly referred to the allegations he refused, stating “that’s not true.”
He added while Dave Chappelle was also open to talking to them about their feelings about “closer.” You won’t be forced to do it.. “For the transgender community, I’m happy to serve you with an audience, but you don’t summon me. I won’t give in to anyone’s demands.”
He went on to add:
“And if you want to see me, I’ll gladly do that, but I have some conditions. First of all, if you haven’t seen my special from start to finish, you Can’t come. You have to come to the place of my choice when I choose, and thirdly, you have to admit that Hannah Gadsby isn’t fun. “
Dave has repeatedly called Netflix co-CEO Ted Salands, pointing out that various film / television studios and festivals are said not to play or show “The Closer.” Nevertheless, I was by his side and thanked him for the stand-up special. “Thanks to God for Ted Sarandos and Netflix. He is the only one who hasn’t canceled me yet.”
As previously reported, Netflix LGBTQ + employees protested that the “closer” was still streamable this month because Dave Chappelle made various transphobic comments. I went on strike first.
