Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen reacts to attack

(WJW) – Legendary Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen opened up on social media after alleged attack suburban cleveland teen of florida.

Allen and wife Lauren Monroe Post a picture of a smiling Allen on Instagram With a caption thanking our supporters for their “overwhelming” support.

“Your love and prayers have been really helpful. Thankfully my wife Lauren was not with me at the time of the incident. “We are focused on healing for everyone involved.”

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, police say Allen and Def Leppard Investigators say Allen was standing outside a hotel smoking a cigarette when he was suddenly attacked by 19-year-old Max Hartley, who was visiting Florida for spring break.

Avon’s Hartley is charged with two counts of assault, four counts of criminal mischief and abuse of a disabled person in an attack on Allen.

According to police, Hartley Saint Ignatius Alumni who played football and lacrosse at school knocked Allen to the ground. According to police reports, Allen injured himself by hitting his head on the ground.

Hartley is also suspected of knocking the woman to the ground and hitting him with his fist after she tried to help Allen, police said. When she tried to flee, police say Hartley was accused of grabbing her by the hair and dragging her outside the hotel.

Police say Hartley was detained by witnesses after he began smashing car windows and attempted to break into a restaurant.

Allen issued a statement to police confirming he was being charged. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol may have influenced Hartley’s behavior.

“Join us in our effort to move from confusion and shock to compassion and empathy. We understand that this act of violence can trigger so many people,” she wrote on Instagram. Gram’s caption continued. “To all fans, veterans and first responders in our global community, we are thinking of you all. With love, We can get through this difficult time.”

Allen is a legend in rock and roll, and his life story has inspired people around the world. In 1984, Allen’s left arm was amputated in a car accident in England.

Despite losing his arm, Allen decided to continue playing the drums, and has since been able to do so using a specially designed electronic drum kit.
