DeSantis accuses Biden of hospital vaccination obligations while in Naples

North Naples

The NCH Healthcare System has enforced its vaccine obligations.

We are currently marking the badges of exempt employees.

Some of these employees are on vacation because they refuse to wear special badges, while others have quit.

As a result, the hospital system lost about 100 staff.

The hospital system says its policy is compliant with federal law.

But in Florida, hospital chains are on the list of organizations that have been complained or perhaps investigated by DOH for violating the state’s Vaccine Passport Act. DOH has not confirmed whether it is investigating the hospital system.

NCH said in a statement:Section 381.00316, Florida Statutes, Section 18, pages 22-23, subsection (1), “The entity does not require the user or customer to provide documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or recovery after infection. There are cases. ” , Entry into business operation in this state, or service from the business. “

Governor Ron DeSantis, who was in Collier County on Friday, said he believes he will not lose his job in the vaccine jab.

But he never said he would punish NCH and other hospital systems for vaccination obligations.

Instead, DeSantis had the opportunity to attack President Joe Biden, whose vaccination rules could fall as early as next week.

“I think many hospitals are compatible with the federal type of Damocles sword that the Biden administration has placed overhead,” said Desantis.

NCH announced vaccine requirements before the president announced his mission.

Still, many hospitals may follow suit for fear of losing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for failure to comply.

“Think of Biden,” said Desantis. “He says don’t split the vaccine. Don’t create a vaccine department. You’re trying to rob people of their jobs with this problem. You’re trying to put people in extreme poverty, you Is robbing their livelihood that no one else is doing it. You are a divisive person about this. “

On Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that it was investigating 120 companies, including NCH, who may have violated the DeSantis ban on vaccine passports.

The Governor’s Office has told WINK News that not all businesses have been formally investigated and that someone may have filed a complaint against them.

WINK News contacted NCH after learning that it was on the DOH list. Their answer is:

NCH has been waiting for official contact from the state regarding the issuance of vaccine passports, but wanted to call the wording of state-specific legislation to get the media’s attention.

Section 381.00316, Florida Statutes, Section 18, pages 22-23, subsection (1), “The entity does not require the user or customer to provide documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or recovery after infection. There are cases. ” , Entry into business operation in this state, or service from the business.

Also, NCH’s vaccination requirements are for NCH employees, contractors, and volunteers only and have never required patients or visitors to show evidence of vaccination, but a subsection of the same decree ( 5) clearly states, “This section does not apply to medical treatment.” In addition to not receiving official notifications from the state on this issue, another reason we find this issue puzzling is the provider.
