Enhanced Cavaliers beat the net again, 125-113

Cleveland (AP) — Collin Sexton added 25 points and 9 assists, Andre Drummond added 19 points and 16 rebounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Brooklyn Nets for the second time in three days at 125-113 on Friday night. ..

Nets played without superstar forward Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant has been withheld as a precautionary measure as he continues to return from right Achilles tendon surgery.

Kyrie Irving scored 38 points and James Harden scored 19 points and 11 assists in Brooklyn. Brooklyn lost 147-135 to Cavalier with twice the overtime on Wednesday’s high-scoring trio debut. Durant scored 38 points in the game and played for 50 minutes, so Nets rested him on Friday in another game scheduled for Saturday.

Jarrett Allen, acquired from Nets at Harden Megatrade on January 14, took 19 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Larry Nance Jr. scored 15 points in Cleveland, and Cleveland won three straight games, surpassing .500 8-7.

Irving opened the third with a back-to-back hoop, placing Brooklyn in front of 64-61, and Cavalier replied with a run of 28-11 to lead forever. Cleveland’s biggest advantage was 16 points in the second half of the fourth.

Irving scored 18 points, Harden scored 10 points and 8 assists in the first half, while the Cavalier held the lead 61-60. Cleveland rose 34-33 after the first, with Sexton and Allen scoring 7 points each.

Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland has missed eight games due to a sprain on his right shoulder and is back after playing for the first time since rookie Dylan Windler broke his left hand on December 23.

Nets launched the 11th different lineup in 17 games under Steve Nash in the first year. They dominated 50-29 in the glass, with small forward Joe Harris leading with seven boards.
