fort myers

Parents of the 4,000 Angel Tree children collect donated presents and place them under the Christmas tree.

On Monday, the Salvation Army began distributing these gifts.

It’s the first of four days when parents drive to pick up gifts.

The purpose of this program is to ensure that children, for whatever reason, do not leave without Christmas presents.

And this year, they were able to keep that promise and not forget the angel.

Volunteers are loading bikes, clothes, toys and Christmas meals into their cars in hopes of bringing joy to Christmas.

The Salvation Army said it felt a great need, especially after Hurricane Ian. Donations from the community have made it possible to meet these needs.
