The FGCU Women’s Basketball Team has become the champion again. The team defeated Jacksonville in the title of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

This is Eagles’ fourth championship for the first time in five years. And with their victory, women get automatic bids for NCAA tournaments.

It was an exciting moment for the Eagles to win the championship. WINKNews was there to get a reaction from the team and fans about the big win.

As you can imagine, I was feeling fine after the match. Jeff Vitale is a big fan of the Eagles. “The biggest FGCU fan! I go to all baseball, softball and basketball. I was here for boys, and this will be over soon. The girls were great,” Vitale said. ..

The Eagles were able to overtake Jacksonville with a score of 69-54.

Tori Maurillo was very happy to see the victory in person. “It was so good that it was a lot of fun to watch and participate in,” Maurillo said.

This victory punches the Eagles ticket to the tournament. They automatically bid for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Maurillo graduated from FGCU and talked about what victory means for her and the community. “It’s very exciting for the community. It’s exciting for all of us because I graduated here,” she said.
