New JEA Customer Service Building Opens in Downtown Jacksonville

jacksonville, florida – The long-awaited JEA Customer Service Center officially opens on Monday in Adams and Pearl Street. The goal is to provide customers with an easy experience.

The seven-story, $95 million building aims to be a one-stop shop where customers can pay their bills, meet with representatives to discuss their accounts and learn how to save money.

JEA Install self-service kiosks in the building where bills can be paid. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards and mobile wallets. An account number is required to enter. The machine will not give you change, but any excess money will be returned to your account.

There were two kiosks as of last month, but JEA believes it will go smoothly once they get used to operating the machines.

“It’s super fast. It takes about a minute to a minute and a half to complete the payment on my account,” said JEA employee Isamar Rodriguez. “The difference is not waiting in line and having someone process your payment. Now I mostly walk to a kiosk and pay cash, credit card, debit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, checks, money orders.”

If customers need to talk to someone directly about their account, they need to download an app called QLess and book a time there. If you can’t book online, you can also book directly.

JEA employees hope the new customer service wing will help ease customer confusion and frustration.

“We are ready and excited and can’t wait to get everyone on board,” Rodriguez said. “All payment options are still available over the phone and online. No more lines. No more lines. No more lines. I’ll call or text you when it’s ready.”

Some News4JAX insiders were concerned about parking conditions in the crowded courthouse next door. The JEA will issue parking tickets for the Duval County Courthouse Garage on Clay Street.

If you can’t get to the new building from downtown, JEA will continue with phone payment and online options.
