10 quarterbacks were taken at 2021 NFL draft..
The five were the first Rounders.
Four of the five first rounders took action on Sunday of the second week, and third rounder Davis Mills made his NFL debut at the Houston Texans.
The five rookies who played threw a total of eight passcuts.
This shows how the 10 rookie quarterbacks and the quarterbacks they played fought.
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Clemson | Round 1, Pick 1
Lawrence first put the Jaguar on the board and led an 11-play, 83-yard drive to touch down on the first drive of the game. Lawrence limited a 5 minute 39 second drive with a 25 yard pass to Marvin Jones Jr.
The rest of the game wasn’t very clean. Jags finished the first half with a drive and missed Punt, 52 yards FG, Punt, 48 yards FG. Jaguar dragged in half 10-7.
The team swapped punts after Denver opened the second half with a touchdown and before Lawrence threw an intercept at K. Jackson. This led to Denver’s field goal.
After two drives, Lawrence threw the intercept again. This time, I threw it to my rookie Patrick Sirtain II, a fellow draft topic.
Lawrence finished 14-33 with 118 yards, one touchdown and two intercepts. Denver won 23-13.
Zach Wilson, New York Jets
BYU | Round 1, Pick 2
Wilson had a day to forget and threw four intercepts at the Patriots with a 25-6 defeat.
Wilson threw intercepts on three of the first four jet drives. His first two pass attempts in the game were chosen.
He also opened the second half with interception.
Wilson finished 19-33 with 210 yards and four pass cuts.
Wilson was also fired four times, bringing the total to 10 in two games.
Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers
NDSU | Round 1, Pick 3
Lance did not participate in this game. Jimmy Garoppolo, who started the quarterback, was enough to get the 49ers to win the Eagles 17-11.
Garoppolo was 22:30 with a touchdown of 189 yards. He also ran for a score.
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Ohio | Round 1, Pick 11
Fields was forced to act when he started the quarterback. Andy Dalton was injured against Cincinnati Bengals in the second quarter.
Dalton started to get hot, raising the Bears 7-0 and driving when he was injured in the second quarter. The field came for a short bailout, but Dalton returned to the field. Shortly thereafter, Dalton was injured again and Fields finished the game with Half.
The field struggled from time to time, finishing 6-13 with 60 yards and intercepts. He was in a hurry 30 yards.
The Bears still had a big win thanks to the 53-yard pick 6 by lineback Roquan Smith.
Mac Jones, New England Patriots
Alabama | Round 1, Pick 15
Jones had a safe day, beating Jets 25-6 to 22-30 at 186 yards.
Jones played much more conservatively, spreading the ball to seven different receivers, while watching fellow rookie Wilson pick up to throw a deep ball.
The run game recorded both touchdowns, Nick Folk was 4-4 in the field goal against his previous team, and Jones minimized mistakes, what Bill Belichick wants to see. ..
Kyle Trask, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Florida | Round 2, Pick 64
Trask didn’t play. Ageless Tom Brady threw five touchdowns on the Buccaneers route. At the end of the game, when it was time to kneel, Backup QB Brian Gabert was the one who achieved the honor.
Kerenmond, Minnesota Vikings
Texas A & M | Round 3, Pick 66
Mondo didn’t play. He is listed number three on the Viking Depth Chart behind Kirk Cousins and Sean Manion.
Davis Mills, Houston Texans
Stanford | Round 3, Pick 67
Mills was forced to act when Tyrod Taylor was injured on Sunday when he lost to Cleveland Browns.
Mills’ NFL debut was OK as he played the second half. It was 8 to 18 at 102 yards, touchdown and intercept.
Mills needs to start his first career as Taylor is expected to miss the match against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night.
The big question is this: who will be his backup? Deshaun Watson is the only other quarterback on the depth chart and is listed as “out” as he continues to address legal issues outside the field.
Ian Book, New Orleans Saints
Notre Dame | Round 4, Pick 133
I didn’t play. He is listed number four on the depth chart behind Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill and Treversiemian.
Sam Ehlinger, Indianapolis Colts
Texas | Round 6, Pick 218
I didn’t play. He is on the disabled list. However, he is also listed as the third quarterback on the depth chart. If starter Carson Wentz was injured on Sunday and Elinger is activated, he could be Jacob Eason’s backup to the Titans on Sunday.
