Florida A & M University is preparing to return home with the safety of COVID-19 in mind

Tallahassee, Florida (WTXL) —Florida A & M University is known to be one of the largest return celebrations in the history of Historically Black Colleges, but still has adequate safety precautions for COVID-19. I am taking it.

Although the number of cases of COVID-19 is declining in the city, FAMU still has a pandemic in mind when planning events and maintaining tradition.

To minimize the spread of COVID-19, the university said most events will be held outdoors.

FAMU does not require a mask, vaccine, or COVID-19 negative test to attend the event. But they encourage people to stay socially distant.

Tanya Tatum, director of human services at FAMU, said their plans follow state guidelines.

“Everyone is taking a different approach when dealing with this year’s COVID,” Tatum said. “Here in Florida, there is fairly specific guidance from the Governor’s Office and it is operating in operational conditions prior to COVID-19.”

Face masks will also be available at events along with disinfection stations.
