Melbourne, Florida. — Over 20 short films from the US and around the world will be on display at 5th The FITV Film Festival will be held online April 15-16 with the Gleason Performing Arts Center at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Featuring movies from Italy, Spain, Chile, France, the Dominical Republic, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Israel, the United States and more, we offer 18 in a lineup of less than 21 minutes. Eight from student entries and professional filmmakers. Florida Institute of Technology is not represented in student films this year.

The festival will begin on Friday, April 15th at 7 pm and will feature 12 films. The screening lasts a little longer than two and a half hours, with three 10-minute breaks. Starting at 6 pm on Saturday, April 16th, 14 films will be screened. The screening will be held again in about two and a half hours, with three 10-minute breaks. On Saturday, the final 20-minute awards ceremony will feature the best student and non-student films in multiple categories, including Best Film Award, Best Director Award, and Best Screenplay Award.
All films and some related events at the festival will be streamed via FITV YouTube channel..
Other elements of the festival include a red carpet photo booth, panel discussions, and free festival products (finished as soon as they are out of stock).
Advance tickets are not required, but the general public should check in at the front desk in the Gleason Lobby. Students check in via the CORQ app on the front desk.
Given that the festival is approaching the season for film awards, the organizers encourage guests to dress in formal wear.
