According to the county sheriff, Harina Hutchins, 42, and director Joel Sousa were filmed Thursday in a rustic film set in the suburbs of Santa Fe. A Baldwin spokesman said there was an accident on the set, including a misfire of a prop gun with a blank.
Hutchins was taken by helicopter to a local trauma center where he died of injury. According to Frances Fisher, one of the leading actors in the movie “Last,” 48-year-old Souza was subsequently released from the hospital.
One source told ABC News that her husband, Matthew, had spoken to Baldwin, who was very supportive.

“One of the best parts of filming a western is this morning!” She capped a photo of a beautiful sunset. Her account was full of comments from friends and fans of her work in mourning the loss.
Condolences have begun to be poured from former colleagues in the film industry and others.

Hutchins, who graduated from the American Film Institute in 2015, was the director of photography for the 2020 action film “Arkenemi” starring Joe Manganiello. She was named a “Featured Stock” by an American cinematographer in 2019.
“It’s very sad to lose Harina, and I’m so angry that this can happen on the set,” said Adam Egypt Mortimer, director of Archinemy, on Twitter. “She was a wonderful talent who was absolutely enthusiastic about art and film.”

Manganiello called Hutchins “incredible talent” and “great man” on his Instagram account. He said he was lucky to work with her.
