An investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is underway after shoppers report anti-Semitic and racist leaflets at two popular spots in southwestern Florida.
According to LCSO, people report receiving leaflets here at Milomer Outlet and Coconut Point.
The Nazi swastika was printed on the entire page. Also, hate speech to African Americans and other groups was scattered around the leaflets.
Ben Herschenson says he found a leaflet when he went home after eating at a restaurant at Coconut Point Mall. He said he noticed the paper while driving.
Herschenson said: And this makes my core sick of me. Memories have been revived. I don’t want to make a phone call when I was talking a few years ago. “
Key Sean found a leaflet after quitting his job. He said. “When I set out for the shift, I saw the leaflet go to a food place to eat something. Then I looked at the leaflet and this leaflet was racist. , I saw many horrifying images of Nazi symbols, people in Jewish colors, and all sorts of annoyances. “
This is the latest in a series of anti-Semitic sentiments expressed in Lee County. On January 31, two teens were arrested after destroying Rabbi’s house. Also, in November last year, anti-Semitic symbols were spray-painted along the roads of the Lee High Acres.
Herschenson says it is important to speak after this latest incident. “I hope people will speak out when I see something like this. And many aren’t going to say it. They’ll say I’m not going to get involved. You must be involved when you see hatred written this way. “
WINK News has contacted both Miromar Outlets and Coconut Point Mall for comment. Coconut Point Mall did not respond, but Miloma Outlet responded “no comment”.
