Hong Kong relaxed COVID-19 restrictions on Thursday and reopened beaches and pools, while Beijing, the capital of China, began easing quarantine rules for foreign arrivals.

Hong Kong has closed water sports venues amid the outbreak of highly contagious variants of Omicron, but restrictions have been relaxed as the number of new cases declines. The number of deaths from COVID-19 has dropped from a high of about 300 per day in March to zero recently.

The restaurant also allows up to eight customers from the previous four to sit at the table, eliminating the need for masks while exercising outdoors. This is a significant change, primarily for organizers of group sporting events.

“We are looking forward to Mother’s Day and will be able to sit at the table for up to eight people,” said William So, assistant general manager of the London restaurant, a long-standing destination for traditional dim sum.

“Business grows and families of three generations can sit and eat together,” said a cart full of steamed dumplings filled with delicious dumplings that circulate in a packed dining room. He said reservations have more than doubled since the relaxed seating policy was announced.

Bars and clubs will be reopened on May 19, and restaurants in southern China will be reopened. City You are allowed to serve your customers until midnight.

China maintains a tough “zero-corona” approach, but imposes less burdensome restrictions on the capital than other cities such as Shanghai, where millions of people are under strict blockade. ..

In Beijing, you will need to arrive from abroad to quarantine your hotel for 10 days, and then you will need another week of quarantine at home.

The previous rule required 21 days of quarantine, of which at least 14 days were quarantined at the hotel, followed by 7 days of regular health reports.

There are only a handful of daily international flights to Beijing, and rule changes are expected to have little practical effect. But symbolically, it seems to show a willingness to compromise on demands for less disturbing and economically damaging policies.

Still, the capital is missing out on opportunities and closed 60 subway stations, which is more than 10% of its vast system, to prevent the possibility of the virus spreading on Wednesday.

Restaurants and bars are restricted to takeaway, the gym is closed and classes are suspended for at least another week. Major tourist destinations in the city, such as the Forbidden City and the Beijing Zoo, have closed indoor exhibition halls and are only partially operated.

Districts are categorized according to their level of awareness of COVID-19 risk, and people living in the highest category of districts are prohibited from leaving the city. Some communities in which the cases were found are isolated.

All residents are required to undergo virus testing three times a week as authorities seek to detect and quarantine cases without imposing the rigorous blockades found in Shanghai and elsewhere.Negative test results obtained within the last 48 hours are mostly required to enter Public space..
