IntelliJ IDEA 2021.1 released on joint CodeWithMe service

JetBrains Announced to the public Code with me As part of the IntelliJ IDEA 2021.1 release. Code With Me is a co-development platform designed to allow users to share projects in the IDE and work with others in real time. It also includes auto-complete of smart context-based code, navigation between objects, method declaration and usage.

Ekaterina Karinina, Product Marketing Manager at Code With Me, said: “We will launch this service so that developers around the world can work together and learn from each other.”

Code With Me has the ability to pair programs, flock programs, provide guidance and guidance, and conduct interviews. It will be available through community, premium and enterprise plans. The community plan is free and allows you to run an unlimited 30-minute session with up to 3 users.

Other important updates to IntelliJ IDEA 2021.1 include integration with Space. This is JetBrains’ new platform for team collaboration to view and duplicate teammate code and create Space automation scripts.

In addition, WSL 2 is now supported in Java projects, and the new Run Targets feature allows users to run, test, profile, and debug applications in Docker containers or remote machines.

The IDE, on the other hand, has a built-in browser preview of HTML files that are updated on the fly, allowing you to include or exclude external dependencies in your search scope.

Pull requests also include new updates such as faster creation, the ability to quickly open diffs in the editor, and support for pull request templates.

The newly added Git commit template outlines the custom information needed for commit messages.

IntelliJ 2021.1 also added basic Java 16 support, new inspections, and an HTML preview window within the IDE.
