News4JAX spoke with the CEOs of the Jewish League and the Northeast Florida Foundation about recent messages.

Mariam Feist said that this is a hatred of Jews that has been going on for centuries and that the Jewish community is saddened by all this.

Feist said the coalition and foundation are creating community security directors who will oversee Jewish synagogues, schools and offices to ensure their safety and protection against possible physical attacks.

The Foundation is also working to create a Community Relations Council to be the voice of the Jewish community and reach out to elected officials about the hatred being cast upon them.

“I am a proud Jew and a proud American. I want to live and I want our community. “I wish I had an answer as to how we could stop all this, but this has been going on for centuries.”

“Start educating children of all beliefs and all walks of life to treat each other with respect and tolerance. That’s what makes America a melting pot. We’re all making a difference.” said Faist.
