Maya Wiley rises to second place in New York mayoral election, aiming for Eric Adams

East Flatbush, Brooklyn (WABC)-Former legal counsel for Mayor Bill de Blasio jumped second in the latest polls for the Mayor of New York. She’s aiming for leading candidate Eric Adams.

On Thursday afternoon, Maya Wily claimed to be a clear progressive in the mayoral election.

And a new poll reveals that after Saturday-like support from Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, she jumped to second place after Eric Adams.

Wily today contrasted her message of targeting Adams and cutting police budgets with Adams, who has been very focused on law enforcement and the fight against crime.

“What makes me most different from Eric Adams is that I have a plan to not go back to something that didn’t work like Stop and Frisk,” Wily said.

Adams states that stops, questions, and Frisk are effective when used in an appropriate manner for suspected gun owners.

Today he finally tried to solve the problem of where he lived, but the mayor helped.

“I don’t think there’s a problem here. It’s definitely a New Yorker. It’s definitely a Brooklyn citizen,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Adams released an EZPass record today after visiting his home in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Wednesday.

Still, Andrew Yang tried to keep the problem alive, claiming that Adams lived primarily in New Jersey.

“No one knows where Eric Adams lives, so we’re having this conversation right now,” said Yang.

“He doesn’t know where I am because he left the city when COVID struck it,” Adams said. “I was here. They know my whereabouts.”

Adams calls himself a labor addict.

During the pandemic, he moved the mattress to his borough office.

“I’m full-time seven days a week, from 5:30 am to 1:00 am, on the ground for New Yorkers,” he said.

Today, Adams also changed his mind and said he would participate in the Thursday night debate.

He needs to be prepared for many attacks. Adams is a leading candidate for mayoral election.
