Wakulla County Fire and Rescue Holds New Fire Engine ‘Push-in’ Ceremony

CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Wakulla County Fire and Rescue Service added a new fire truck to the station showcasing the additions at a “push-in” ceremony Saturday.

The closet is a tradition that dates back to the late 1800s.

The new engine was washed down and pushed into the station by Wakulla County officials and staff.

Wakulla County Commissioner Ralph Thomas explained how fire trucks help the community.

“Our county is growing, so we keep adding facilities. We want to have facilities and ensure good security for our citizens,” Thomas said.

Wakulla County Fire Rescue has been waiting for the new engine to come out and is looking forward to using it.

Combined with the new engine, this will help fight fires in the area and reduce response time.

Wakulla Fire Rescue plans to expand another station north of Wakulla County.

The county just bought the land to make it happen.
