Hot Wheels Auctioned for Cool Purposes: Brevard Zoo Aquarium
Online and telephone bidding begins on July 6th at the rare 1968 L89 Chevrolet Chevelle, which is auctioned for the benefit of the Breverd Zoo’s aquarium, conservation and educational programs.
The V-8, Matador Red, was originally one of seven and is now known as the last vehicle, but will be auctioned directly at the Orange County Convention Center on Saturday, July 9th. Cars were the subject of cover stories for “Muscle Car Review” and other publications.
Keith Winsten, Executive Director of the Zoo, said: “The donations go directly to the zoo’s animal health, conservation, education programs, and the construction of future aquariums and conservation centers.”

Painting workshop planned at Cocoa Beach
Enter the air-conditioned and comfortable painting ditch at the July Art Workshop at the Studio of Cocoa Beach in Minuteman Causeway.
In “Painting Florida in Acrylics”, instructor Jaymee Weinreich will teach students from beginners to experienced painters in four sessions of “Painting Florida in Acrylics”.
Weinreich describes how to paint the sky, clouds, and waves with a focus on mixing, blending, and creating dimensions with the goal of creating a finished work of art.
For a short excursion to the world of painting, Weinreich has the answer at the “Morning Surfer” paint party from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, July 8th.
No artistic experience is required as Wayne Reich will guide participants to the use of acrylic paints and help them mix colors to create cloud and wave compositions.
The result is a finished artwork ready to go home.

Jazz concert on Merritt Island
From the Space Coast, Daniel Tenbush and his group will be featured at the Space Coast Jazz Society concert at the Veterans Memorial Center at 400 South Sykes Creek Parkway on Merritt Island at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 10. I’m a performer.
