North Port, Florida-A family of missing North Port women said they were seeking an answer About the disappearance of my daughter..
22-year-old Gabby Petito was reported missing by his family over the weekend. Her family said she spoke to her daughter on the phone on August 25th.
Petit and her boyfriend left New York on July 2nd for a cross-country trip to the west. Officials said Petit was last seen in Grand Teton National Park. Northport police said her boyfriend went home without her.
Gabby’s father, Joseph Petit, said he felt drowning waiting for an answer.
“You can sympathize, you can sympathize, you can understand, but that’s not the case when you’re in it,” he said.
Couples can be seen together on social media and YouTube videos. Legal agents have identified Gabby’s boyfriend as Brian Laundry.
A lawyer representing the Laundry family said in a statement: “This is, of course, a very difficult time for both the Petite and Laundry families. We understand that a search for Miss Petite was organized in or near Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundry family, I hope that Miss Petite’s search was successful and that Miss Petite will reunite with her family. With the advice of a lawyer, the Coin Laundry family remains in the background at this point. No further comments. “
ABC Action News has contacted the National Park Service in Grand Teton. Authorities did not confirm the details related to the search.
Reply in Gabby’s statement, “Schmidt and Petit’s family are experiencing the worst moments of their lives. Their beautiful 22-year-old daughter is missing and one who can help find Gabby refuses to help. Brian Laundry Was traveling with Gabby on the Grand Teton-Yellowstone area. He was traveling with Gabby’s 2012 Ford Transit Van. Gabby was last seen here.
Brian refuses to tell Gabby’s family where she last met her. Brian also refuses to explain why he left Gabby alone and drove her van to Florida. These are important questions that require immediate answers.
Schmidt and Petit’s family asks the Laundry family to “not stay in the background,” but help Brian find someone he called the love of life. If Brian is the one who knows Gabby’s whereabouts, how does Brian stay in the background?
Schmidt and Petit’s family begs Brian to come forward and at least tell us if we are looking for the right area. “
Northport police do not call Laundry a suspect or anyone interested in her disappearance. Officers recovered the van and called the situation surrounding Petit’s disappearance “strange.”
