More than 200,000 people have signed a petition to release the Texas brothers accused of sexually abusing their sisters and killing their stepfathers.

Over 230,000 people are calling for the release of their two Texas brothers and their friends from prison. The three young men were arrested for beating and killing their father-in-law after being accused of sexually abusing his sister.

by New York post, 18-year-old Alejandro Trevino and 17-year-old Christian Trevino were “furious” after discovering that their stepfather Gabriel Quintanilla had improperly touched his sister. Quintanilla already has an arrest warrant for sexually abusing another child.

Authorities say the Trebino brothers confronted Quintanilla at his house last week before things became physical. Their friend Juan Melendez is reported to have joined the battle. The three teens reportedly defeated Kintanilla with a brass knuckle.

Juan Melendez and Christian Trevino were charged with murder and weighted assault, and Alejandro Trevino was charged with engaged in weighted assault and organized crime.

“Three teenagers are currently in custody and their ties are set at over $ 1 million each,” the online petition reads. “If convicted of murder, they face a minimum life imprisonment without parole. We ask Texas to release these teenagers. These teenagers protect their sisters. You may be sentenced to life imprisonment to do so. “

The petition created at Change.org has 246,000 signatures as of Friday morning.
