MTA Heroes: Station sign teams help New Yorkers find their way across the transportation system

New York City (WABC)-This week’s MTA Hero is a worker responsible for helping us all navigate the city’s transportation system.

The 40-person station sign team, led by John Khan, is responsible for designing, creating and installing more than 84,000 signs across 472 subway stations in the city.

We also support signboards at bus stops and MTA facilities.

The Station Signage Group is working to maintain existing signage, replace obsolete or damaged signage, and design and install new signage as needed.

It is worth noting that this team of 40 people can manage such a huge number of signs in the system.

“Thanks to John and the Station Signage team for their dedication to your work and pointing us all in the right direction,” the MTA said.
