New Jersey Turnpike Crash: A tractor trailer crashed and burned at an exit ramp near Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark, NJ (WABC)-First responders were at the scene of a truck crash and fire at the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark.

It occurred early on Tuesday morning at the exit ramp to interchange 14.

A paper-carrying tractor trailer crashed and ignited.

It was not immediately clear what led to the crash, the number and extent of the injuries.

The video from NewsCopter 7 showed widespread damage to the truck and burnt debris scattered throughout the ramp.

The crash closed the northbound truck lane exit to Newark Liberty Airport as police investigated as the crew worked to clear up debris and debris.

The crash also shut down northbound access to the NJ Turnpike Extension, making it difficult to reach the Holland Tunnel.
