New U.S. State Department Passport Office Coming to Orlando, Offering Same-Day Passport Service
The U.S. General Services Administration is currently evaluating potential locations for the new office, a process that could take up to a year.
According to Frost, specific details such as the opening date and the precise location within the Orlando area have yet to be finalized for the new passport office.
In Florida, the sole existing passport office is situated in Miami, where services include more than just taking a person’s photo and typically involve a six-week processing period.
Currently, passport services in Brevard County are offered at the Clerk’s Melbourne and Viera branch locations. Services are available by appointment on a first-come, first-served basis, although walk-in customers will still have access to all Clerk’s Office services, including passport processing.
The Clerk’s Office advises visitors to review the requirements for passport applications, photos, and payments before visiting. For more information, please refer to the FAQs [here](link to FAQs).
