George Floyd’s brother, Terrence Floyd, nominated Adams as mayor on Wednesday afternoon. Floyd, who lives in New York, emphasized Adams’ deep commitment to police reform in his support.

Leaders like Eric Adams need to come to power to make a real systematic change in this country. That’s why I support Eric for the Mayor of New York. Eric is a race. We are the leader of justice we need now and we are proud to join him at the polling place where he votes on election day. I believe it will be a positive wave of change for this city and our country. “

Adams is determined to project an air of self-confidence, if not inevitably.

“No one on stage has a resume like me,” he said.

Still, his closest enemy is running hard to turn the race over.

Former hygiene commissioner Kathryn Garcia campaigned in Greenwich Village and promised to establish the city’s first LGBTQ + secretariat if elected.

“I’m running for mayor because I believe that the most progressive thing the government can do is work for everyone,” she said. “Currently, it doesn’t work for the LGBTQ community, especially young New Yorkers.”

Lawyer and activist Maya Wiley has released her own campaign ad that gives Adams a run for his money when it comes to projecting confidence.

“I’m Maya Wily. I have the courage to do that. I’m asking you to vote,” she said in an ad.

Meanwhile, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang participated in the vote to vote early.

“I seem to be three-quarters of New York City’s registered Democrats and voted for the governor and presidential elections,” said Yang. “But this is a very difficult time in New York City’s history and we need to step up, so I think we can see a lot of people voting for the first time in this race. I’m looking forward to it. “

Former front runners have dramatically reduced their votes and are now in fourth place, but the final result will be amazing as nearly 40% of the voters this season are first-time voters. He believes Political change.

“Many of the people I speak to are very excited to vote, but they plan to vote on the 22nd,” he said. “So I think we’ll see tremendous turnout, and there are some signs that many new voters are emerging, which is very exciting, but it’s often done on the 22nd. I think it’s one. The reason for voting today is to let people know that they don’t have to wait until then. “

The Democratic Party’s final mayoral debate is scheduled for Wednesday night.

To date, more than 64,000 people have voted early, and early voting continues until Sunday.
