News4Jax viewers capture SpaceX launch from northeastern Florida

Jacksonville, Florida – Northeast Florida residents captured the SpaceX launch on Friday morning and sent a photo to News4Jax.

The family went out around 5:30 am and found the launch.

The photo shows a ray of light going into space. Some viewers even suspected it was an “alien.” In reality, it was four astronauts who went into orbit with recycled rockets and capsules.

Astronauts from the United States, Japan, and France should arrive at the International Space Station early Saturday morning after boarding the same Dragon Capsule used by SpaceX’s debut crew last May for 23 hours. They will spend six months in orbiting laboratories.
