NFL cornerback Jeff Gladney dies in a car accident at the age of 25

“We are seeking prayers for family and privacy during this most difficult time.”

According to the outlet, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said a fatal car accident occurred around 2:30 am in the westbound service lane of the Woodall Rogers Freeway on Allen Street. Sources claim that female passengers were reportedly in the car and unfortunately died as well.

The Cardinal also shared the statement and said,

“We are devastated to know Jeff Gladney’s death. Our hearts are directed at his family, friends, and everyone who mourns this tremendous loss.”

Jeff, who attended the University of Texas Kristang, was selected for the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Vikings also shared a statement in the wake of his death, stating:

“We are saddened by the tragic death of former Viking Jeff Gladney. Our hearts are his family and friends, the Arizona Cardinals organization, and Jeff’s present and former mourning for his life. Lost too quickly by his teammates and coaches. “

Jeff signed with the Cardinal in March of this year.

Jeremiah Donati, TCU Athletic Director, said in a statement:

“Our TCU athletics family, especially our football program, was very devastated to know Jeff Gladney’s death. After getting a degree and continuing to play in the NFL, Jeff was with TCU. He maintained a close relationship. He loved everything in his alma mater. He frequently visited the campus and his little son proudly participated in this spring’s practice and spring games. You will miss the whole of our community. Our thoughts, prayers, and deep condolences are directed at Jeff’s family, friends, and TCU teammates. “
