NFL team withheld payment for coronavirus outbreak in the face of potential confiscation

New York-NFL teams have been warned that a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players could confiscate the game, and players on both teams will not be paid that week Hmm.

In a memo sent to the club Thursday, Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “As we learned last year, maintain a firm commitment to adhere to health and safety protocols and make the necessary adjustments as circumstances change. If you do, you can play the full season. ” It was acquired by the Associated Press.

Goodell says the league does not expect to add a 19th week to accommodate games that cannot be rescheduled within the 18-week regular season.

However, the result includes confiscation.

“If one of the competing teams was canceled due to the COVID of an unvaccinated player who could not change the schedule of the game, the team that occurred was confiscated and played 16 games for draft purposes. It is considered, such as a waiver of priority, “Guddel said in a memo.

For playoff seed purposes, the confiscated team will be credited for losing and the other teams will be credited for winning.

According to the league, more than half of the teams have a COVID-19 vaccination rate of over 80% of the players and more than 75% of the players are in the process of vaccination.

Almost all clubs vaccinate 100% of Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff. The team has set the appropriate protocol for unvaccinated staff, in line with the guidance given last April.

Among the other important points of the memo:

-If the vaccinated person is positive and asymptomatic, the person will be quarantined and contact tracing will be performed immediately. Positive individuals are allowed to return to work after performing two negative tests at least 24 hours apart, and are then tested every two weeks or as directed by medical staff. Vaccinated individuals are not subject to quarantine as a result of close contact with infected individuals.

-If an unvaccinated person is tested positive, the protocol from 2020 will continue to be valid. The person will be quarantined for 10 days and will be allowed to return to work if asymptomatic. Unvaccinated individuals will continue to be subject to a five-day quarantine period if they are in close contact with infected individuals.

-People who have previously been infected with COVID-19 are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving at least one approved vaccine.
