Broward County, Florida – Notices about boiling water have come into effect in parts of Broward County.
A lightning strike at Broward’s 2A waterworks affected the water supply of thousands of households.
According to the county, the lightning strike “affected the functioning of the pumping station, causing little or less water pressure at all of Lighthouse Points, north of Pompano Beach, and part of Deerfield Beach.”
A map of the affected areas can be found below:
The county said that if water pressure remains low, the inhabitants of Coconut Creek could also be affected.
Notifications about boiling water are valid until the system-wide water pressure is restored and bacteriological studies indicate that the water is safe to drink.
