NYC Crime: A Man Deadly Stabbed in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City

Greenwich Village, Manhattan (WABC)-A 28-year-old man was fatally injured in a conflict in Greenwich Village.

The victim, identified by the NYPD as Samer Abdalla in Brooklyn, was involved in a conflict with four others on Sixth Avenue near West 4th Street around 1:30 am on Friday.

One of the suspects stabbed him in his torso and was sentenced to death at Bellevue Hospital.

Four suspects escaped from the scene. No arrests have been made so far.

Murders are extremely rare in Greenwich Village.

In the 6th district of the NYPD, there were no homicides in all of 2021.

Still, some neighbors say they are worried about the large crowds gathering here late at night.

“I’m absolutely scared of what’s going on,” a man told Eyewitness News. “Someone was stabbed, and if it doesn’t change now … Mayor Adams has to do something, because if he doesn’t, it will continue to rampant in this city.”

6th Avenue was closed on Bleecker Street as police investigations continued.
