jacksonville, florida – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was taken to hospital with injuries on Friday.

Just before noon, the infant was taken to the hospital by an unnamed person, the JSO said. The child was given life support, but the 2-year-old died.

Police did not say how the child was injured.

The situation was reported to the Children and Families Department.

Police are trying to determine the location of the incident and the cause of the child’s death.

The JSO has spoken with officials but has not disclosed the relationship with the child.
