Pedestrians killed in North Fort Myers crash

A 35-year-old woman from Dade City was killed in North Fort Myers early Saturday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was standing in the inner lane of Pine Island Road near the intersection of Verona Drive when a 29-year-old Cape Coral man-driven eastern car struck her.

The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 am

The woman was declared dead on the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
