When the chaos began, Chris was enjoying a quiet night at home.
“I heard the gunshots and came to see what was happening,” she said.
When she went out, she saw police cars and police officers blocking the intersection of Beach 66th Street and Beach Channel Drive.

Thankfully, no one was hit by the shooting, but investigators say it all started after 5pm on Saturday. Two officers have been stationed in the southwest corner of the block. The two were walking down Beach 66th Street, probably unaware that the policeman was there. The two then fired a gun across the intersection at the target of interest.
The shooting surprised the police, but they both reacted quickly. One ran for help, and the other released a weapon. This all happened next to a playground full of children.
The detective is still trying to connect who the suspect was and what the motive for the shooting was.
No arrests have been made so far.
