Police shoot and kill during conflict in Bronx

Hunts Point, Bronx (WABC)-A man shot dead by police during a conflict in Bronx.

Officials say there was a dispute between Seneca Avenue and Hunts Point Avenue in the Hunts Point section. One reportedly left the scene and returned to the car with a gun.

The suspect had a firearm in his hand and used it to shoot a gun at a police officer. The policeman then beat the suspect and set it back on fire.

The suspect was then taken to Lincoln Hopsital, where he was sentenced to death.

The gun was recovered at the scene.

Two police officers were taken to a local hospital for tinnitus.

Investigation is ongoing.
